Laetare Sunday!

Rejoice!  This past Sunday, the fourth Sunday of Lent, is a day of joy.  We are now halfway through the Lenten season and Easter is near.

This past Sunday I also had the blessing of sharing briefly a bit about the hurdle of student loans to vocations and about The Laboure Society at a local parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, in Anchorage.  Fr. Tom Lilly gave a warm and encouraging welcome, and I was blessed to be able to meet so many of the parishioners, who were also supportive – many expressed a desire to support TLS.

I heard time and again, “I never knew student loans were a problem to vocations, but it makes perfect sense.  I’m so glad you shared this information with us.”  Father also shared that our archdiocese, like most, have had to turn away young men due to student loans.  We are losing vocations because of this issue.  But thanks be to God for TLS and the many men, women and organizations who support vocations like mine with prayers, donations, and helping us spread the word to others!

Right now, we have a long way to go to reach our fundraising goals.  Please help us by sharing our vocation stories and about the work of TLS.  Your invitation and support could mean the difference of one more vocation being able to enter formation this year.

Peace of Christ to you and a Blessed Lent!
