A Divine Vocation

Why leave the world for a cloister?  What distinguishes a Dominican vocation?  This short video touches on these points and others through the eyes and experience of a 22-year old postulant and a 71-year old nun.  Highlighting some of the joys and challenges with a life consisting of “falling head-over-heels in love with Christ crucified, then slowly figuring out what that means,” this short film simply, but beautifully, gives a glimpse into the divine vocation of a cloistered Dominican nun.

Monasteries of cloistered Dominican nuns dot the United States and Canada, from one coast to the other and while they are united in the Dominican charism, the communities also have their own uniqueness.  For more information on cloistered Dominican life and to get information on the different Dominican monasteries in Canada and the United States, visit the website of the Association of U.S. Dominican Nuns.
